Tony Oursler, omnipresent pieces of art

8 07 2007

This post goes for Tony Oursler, one of the most relevant videoartists of nowadays. I was lucky enough to see one of his works in the beautiful and amazing town of Santillana del Mar in Cantabria (Spain). The “Glob” is the name that receives this piece of art where the fiber glass gives the structure to it and a video is projected over it. The viewer is exposed to a tide of controversial feelings where repulse and curiosity are mixed. The Glob talks, mumbles and speaks non-sense to the public…monologues which gather all the synthesis of non useful conversations which sum up to the grotesque of the figure.

Personal Entry I : Hamburg, stylish and alive

8 07 2007

Hamburg, a beautiful and alive city, where design, trends and youth meet. Walking around the city is a very nice experience. Considering it has 1.8 million people inhabitants, it is a “reachable” city, very easy to enjoy, walk and without feeling small in its urban landscape. During my short trip, last Saturday, I had the chance to run into interesting street artists (you can find plenty of pieces of art in the neighborhood of Sternschanze) where, wether through paint, graffities, tiles or stickers, they bring additional trendiness to the city. See some shots below.
